KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Mar. 9, 2021) – United Soccer Coaches announced its College Player of the Week awards on Tuesday afternoon with four student-athletes representing NCAA Divisions I & II.

NCAA Division I Men: Callum Johnson (Clemson)
NCAA Division I Women: Grace Yochum (Oklahoma State)
NCAA Division II Men: Antoine Recizac (Mississippi College)
NCAA Division II Women: Bailey Hern (Valdosta State)

Clemson redshirt senior midfielder Callum Johnson (New York, N.Y.) earned his third start this season and made it count. Johnson scored two goals on three shots in 75 minutes of play in a 3-1 victory against Syracuse University. On the women’s side, Oklahoma State junior forward Grace Yochum (Houston, Texas) scored the golden goal in the 98th minute as she converted a penalty kick in the first overtime to lift the Cowgirls to a road win at 17th-ranked Saint Louis, their second win over a ranked team this season and first on the road. The goal was Yochum’s sixth of the season, tying her for the conference lead.

In NCAA Division II, Mississippi College senior midfielder Antoine Recizac (Bordeaux, France) had a hand in all three goals in a 3-1 win over Union (Tenn.). Recizac assisted on the opening goal and then scored in the 25th and 33rd minutes to give the Choctaws the lead. On the women’s side, Valdosta State sophomore forward Bailey Hern (Zephyrhills, Fla.) scored her first career goals for the blazers. Hern scored two goals and tallied a team-high eight shots with six on frame in a thrilling 4-3, come-from-behind, double-overtime victory at Auburn Montgomery. 

Each Tuesday during the college regular season, United Soccer Coaches selects a men’s and women’s Player of the Week for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III and Junior College competition based on nominations from schools and conferences. Nominations are due every Tuesday by 10 a.m. CT to be considered.
