High School Rankings

United Soccer Coaches provide both National and Regional High School Rankings for boys and girls in the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons.

If you are a current coach of a boys’ or girls’ high school team and can provide accurate information on the strength of teams in your area, region or state, please send an e-mail to awards@unitedsoccercoaches.org.

In order to ensure that your message is passed on to the correct regional representative, you must specify whether you are referring to a boys’ or girls’ team, and include the city and state in which the school is located. You may also use the address to nominate teams for inclusion in the rankings. Please be specific when supplying information. The more information you provide, the better the committee will be able to evaluate your team.

High School Rankings Procedures and Criteria

The High School and College rankings are an indicator of week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for championship selection. The primary focus of the rankings is to promote awareness and publicize interscholastic and intercollegiate boys and girls soccer programs in the United States. Regional and national rankings are conducted in all three seasons of high school soccer (fall, winter and spring).

The rankings are compiled by our members—soccer coaches who devote countless hours above their own programs to ensure the most equitable process and recognition of teams. Once the rankings close and are tabulated to include the current records, first-place votes, and accumulated points, they are posted on the United Soccer Coaches website (bringing thousands of visitors to our website, thus helping us spread the word about high school soccer) and distributed electronically to soccer media and across the country. These are published each week (fall season) and every other week (winter and spring seasons) on Tuesday afternoon. We work closely with numerous high school coaches (and governing bodies) to provide timely, accurate weekly looks at the best programs at all levels.
