The partnership renewal continues the support of the Master’s in Soccer Coaching Program (MSC) and establishes Ohio University as an Official Partner of United Soccer Coaches.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 18, 2023) – United Soccer Coaches announced today the renewal of the association’s partnership with Ohio University, and specifically the Master’s in Soccer Coaching Program (MSC) offered by the university.

Providing the only soccer-specific master’s degree program in the United States, Ohio University is proud to celebrate the tenth year of the Master’s in Soccer Coaching Program (MSC), designed to provide the most current information and research in the development of soccer coaches for every level of the sport.

“The Master’s in Soccer Coaching Education is the pinnacle of coaching education offered in partnership with the association,” said Geoff VanDeusen, United Soccer Coaches Chief Executive Office. “We’re thrilled to continue this partnership with Ohio University to develop the next generation of soccer coaching professionals.”

The Patton College of Education at Ohio University and the United Soccer Coaches launched this online master’s degree in Recreation and Sport Sciences with a concentration in Soccer Coaching in June 2013. Through this continued partnership, special access is given to the enrolled students in the areas of United Soccer Coaches membership, special pricing on association courses, and access to events at the annual convention.

“It is excellent to continue our Master’s in Soccer Coaching Education partnership with United Soccer Coaches,” said Dr. Ashley Allanson, Program Cohort Facilitator and Faculty Member. “This partnership is integral to the development of the curriculum of the degree and even more essential, is the opportunity students have to access the United Soccer Coaches Convention to benefit their continuing development as soccer coaches.”

Ohio University is now accepting applications for Spring 2024. Those interested can submit an inquiry to the program’s webpage here. Representing the highest level of education offered through the association, the Master’s in Soccer Coaching Education includes a five-day residency that takes place at the annual United Soccer Coaches Convention.
