United Soccer Coaches releases NCAA Division I Women’s Rankings
Top two remain unchanged as rest of top 10 gets a shake up
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Aug. 21, 2018) – United Soccer Coaches released the first regular season regional and national rankings for NCAA Division I women’s soccer on Tuesday, following the opening weekend of play on college campuses across the country.

The top two teams in the poll remained the same with Stanford receiving 34 of 35 first place votes and 872 points to hold down the No. 1 ranking. UCLA totaled 835 points in the poll and stays at No. 2. Stanford opened the season last week with a 5-0 win over California-Davis, while UCLA beat Long Beach State 1-0 in its season opener.
Penn State moved up one spot to No. 3 with North Carolina and Florida rounding out the top five. All three of those teams went 2-0 to open the season.
United Soccer Coaches college rankings are an indicator of week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for championship selection. To be eligible for consideration in United Soccer Coaches college rankings, a school must be a member of United Soccer Coaches College Services Program.
The next college rankings will be released Tuesday, Aug. 28 and will also include the first regular season rankings for NCAA Division I men’s soccer.
