Top teams mostly unchanged in latest college rankings
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 2, 2018) – After seven new teams moved into the No. 1 spot in their respective rankings last week, the top teams remained largely unchanged in this week’s rankings for men’s and women’s college soccer released by United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.

Wake Forest remains perfect on the season at 10-0 and holds down the No. 1 spot in the Division I men’s poll, while Stanford extended its unbeaten streak to 33 games and remains atop the women’s ranking.
The top five in both the men’s and women’s Division II polls went unchanged this week with Simon Fraser atop the men’s rankings and UC San Diego leading the women’s poll.
At the NCAA Division III level, Messiah College remains atop the men’s poll for another week, while Washington University (Mo.) is ranked No. 1 on the women’s side for the second consecutive week.
Tyler Junior College regained the No. 1 ranking in the NJCAA Men’s Division I poll this week, while Navarro College took over the top spot in the women’s poll. In NJCAA Division III Herkimer College and Cerritos College remained at No. 1 in the men’s and women’s polls, respectively.
At the NCCAA Division I level Oklahoma Wesleyan stayed put at No. 1 in the Division I men’s poll, while Trinity Christian College stayed atop the women’s ranking for the third straight week. In Division II, Trinity Baptist College is holding down the top spot in the men’s poll for the second consecutive week, as is Bob Jones University on the women’s side.
United Soccer Coaches college rankings, released every Tuesday during the regular season, are an indicator of the week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for championship selection. To be eligible for consideration in United Soccer Coaches college rankings, a school must be a member of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program.
