Top teams holding steady in latest college rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 23, 2018) – Twelve teams continued their stay atop their respective polls as United Soccer Coaches released the latest set of rankings for men’s and women’s college soccer on Tuesday.

After reclaiming the top spot a week ago, Wake Forest remains No. 1 in this week’s Division I men’s poll, while Stanford continues its stranglehold atop the women’s ranking, where it has been all season.

The top teams in NCAA Division II remained the same with Simon Fraser atop the men’s rankings and Grand Valley State sitting at No. 1 in the women’s poll.

At the NCAA Division III level, Messiah College is No. 1 for the second straight week, while Washington University (Mo.) holds down the No. 1 ranking on the women’s side for the fifth week in a row.

Marshalltown Community College sits atop the NJCAA Men’s Division I ranking for the second straight week, while Tyler Junior College regained the top spot in the women’s poll. In NJCAA Division III, Cerritos College continues to hold the No.1 spot in both the men’s and women’s rankings.

At the NCCAA Division I level Oklahoma Wesleyan stayed put at No. 1 in the men’s poll and its women’s team took over the top spot in their ranking. In NCCAA Division II, Bob Jones University is ranked No. 1 in both the men’s and women’s poll as well.

United Soccer Coaches college rankings, released every Tuesday during the regular season, are an indicator of the week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for championship selection. To be eligible for consideration in United Soccer Coaches college rankings, a school must be a member of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program.
