KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 5, 2025)  – United Soccer Coaches announced on Friday that Todd Hill of New Haven (Conn.) Youth Soccer is the recipient of its 2025 Youth Coach of the Year. The recipient is selected from online nominations received from members who were a part of the association’s Member Club program in 2025 and/or youth coaches who are individual members of the organization.

With more than 34 years of coaching experience, Todd Hill has dedicated his life to the game of soccer. His background includes running his own soccer academy, coaching high school boys and girls programs, being a premier academy and pre-academy coach, and leading a competitive collegiate club team.

Hill believes strongly in continuous learning and in building the right balance between player development and performance. His mission is to help players grow as individuals, athletes, and teammates within a diverse and supportive environment.

“When a player measures themselves against what they are truly capable of, they are ready to grow—in soccer and in life,” Hill said, He strives to mentor players in values such as commitment, work ethic, problem-solving, and continual improvement, lessons that extend beyond the field.

So, it is only fitting he coaches through balance, combining technical and tactical development with an inclusive, enjoyable learning environment. The goal is for every player to understand the game more deeply, build strong fundamental skills, work collaboratively, and embrace the joy of competition.

As a product of New Haven Youth Soccer, he takes pride in giving back to the program that shaped his own playing and coaching journey. Now, with decades of experience behind, he sees his role as both coach and mentor—guiding players to understand the why behind the game, challenging them to push themselves, and helping them grow as teammates and young adults.
