Seventeen teams move into top 25 of high school rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 17, 2018) – United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA) and USA TODAY High School Sports released today the third set of regional and national polls in the USA TODAY/United Soccer Coaches rankings for boys and girls high school soccer in the spring season.

Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, S.C., under head coach Shilo Tisdale, continues to hold down the top spot in the boys poll with an 18-0-0 mark. Union (Tulsa, Okla.) moved up one spot to No. 2 at 12-0-0. Omaha Westside (Omaha, Neb.), The Westminster Schools (Atlanta, Ga.) and Roosevelt (Seattle, Wash.) round out the top five.

Notre Dame de Sion in Kansas City, Mo., led by head coach Matt Darby, sits atop the girls poll for the second straight ranking at 6-0-0. St. Charles North (St. Charles, Ill.) is second again this week followed by Leesville Road (Raleigh, N.C.), Clover (Clover, S.C.) and Broomfield (Broomfield, Colo.) to round out the top five on the girls’ side.

Joining those programs in the Top 25 are 17 new schools in this week’s rankings, nine on the boys’ side and eight on the girls’ side.
