KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Mar. 30, 2021) – United Soccer Coaches announced its College Player of the Week awards on Tuesday afternoon with four student-athletes representing NCAA Divisions I and III.

NCAA Division I Men: Giannis Nikopolidis (Georgetown)
NCAA Division I Women: Alina Stahl (West Virginia)
NCAA Division III Men: Nick Iregui (Westminster College)
NCAA Division III Women: Corrine Larson (Westminster College)

Georgetown junior goalkeeper Giannis Nikopolidis (Athens, Greece) made eight saves for the Hoyas to preserve a 3-0 win over Providence. Nikopolidis has only allowed two goals in five games for a 0.42 seasonal goals-against average and has three shutouts for the season. On the women’s side, West Virginia junior forward Alina Stahl (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied an assist and scored the game-winning goal for WVU in Saturday’s 3-2 upset win over No. 5 Duke. Stahl’s goal and assist helped the mountaineers defeat a top-10 opponent in 15 of the last 16 seasons.

In NCAA Division III, Westminster College (PA) senior forward Nick Iregui (Gig Harbor, Wash.) extended his Westminster career points record to 102 with a goal in a 2-0 victory against Thiel. On the women’s side, Westminster College (PA) senior forward Corrine Larson (Grayslake, Ill.) scored the second goal of the game in a 2-0 win at home against Thiel on Saturday on Senior Day. It was Larson’s first goal of the season and the second of her collegiate career.
