National Champion Maryland atop final NCAA DI men’s rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 11, 2018) – United Soccer Coaches released the final 2018 national rankings on Tuesday for NCAA Division I men’s soccer, led by Maryland, who captured the fourth national championship in program history on Sunday.

Led by head coach Sasho Cirovski and a defense that didn’t allow a goal during the NCAA Tournament, Maryland captured its first title since 2008 with a 1-0 victory over Akron in the College Cup final at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, Calif.

National Runner-Up Akron was second in the final poll, followed by Indiana, Michigan State and Kentucky rounding out the top five.
