My coaching journey began in 1996, volunteering for AYSO, coaching my 5-year-old son back then. From there I followed the path to coach for travel club soccer, Premier Club Soccer and into the High School level.

The biggest accomplishment for me is to be able to serve my players, every single day I’m out on the field coaching the beautiful game of soccer with passion, to build a stronger character through the sport, for their real-life experiences and journey.

My role model is Coach Joseph Couto, a brilliant coach, and the first one to give me my first soccer job opportunity in 1996. When I was initiating my coaching journey and since then, he has been a personal friend and a mentor for me to this day.

My advice to young coaches would be to always dedicate yourself to the players and the community you serve, demonstrating the love and passion for the beautiful game of soccer you have, so that a seed is planted in their hearts and through the sport. Help them build and grow a strong character that allows them to face real-life challenges.
