Open Training Week

Open Training Week

With growing concerns across the country surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), including on many college campuses, and for the safety of soccer coaches and student-athletes, United Soccer Coaches is canceling its 2020 Open Training Week, which was scheduled for April 13-19.

This nationwide initiative provides an opportunity for coaches from all levels and backgrounds to experience new environments, observe high-level training sessions, and learn from one another. Men’s and women’s teams at the college and professional levels welcome local soccer coaches in their communities to attend a practice. Last year’s event was the most attended Open Training Week ever with 174 hosts and nearly 1,200 attendees.

“Open Training Week provides an opportunity for coaches of all levels and backgrounds to experience new environments, observe high-level training sessions, and learn from one another.”

Charlie Slagle

Past United Soccer Coaches President

This is a terrific event that I wish was available to me as a younger coach. Even today, I am always looking for open sessions that I can attend to see if there is anything that I can pick up.
