Open Training Week
Open Training Week: Host Your Program!
Open Training Week will return April 13-19, 2020 in cities across the country. This nationwide initiative provides an opportunity for coaches from all levels and backgrounds to experience new environments, observe high-level training sessions, and learn from one another. Men’s and women’s teams at the college and professional levels welcome local soccer coaches in their communities to attend a practice. Last year’s event was the most attended Open Training Week ever with 174 hosts and nearly 1,200 attendees.
This year’s Open Training Week is dedicated to the late Charlie Slagle. The Past United Soccer Coaches President envisioned a unique event to bring coaches together, and from that vision Open Training Week was created. With this invaluable opportunity United Soccer Coaches also fulfills its core pillars of education, advocacy, and service.
Online registration for hosts is now open. After registering, you will receive an email providing a toolkit with tips and tricks on how to promote and host a successful session. Attendee registration will open on Wednesday, March 18.

This is a terrific event that I wish was available to me as a younger coach. Even today, I am always looking for open sessions that I can attend to see if there is anything that I can pick up.
