Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Visits United Soccer Coaches Convention
(Jan. 11, 2019) – Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel made an appearance at the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Convention at McCormick Place.
Mayor Emanuel held a press conference at the Convention to highlight the record-setting tourism in the city during 2018 and the great start to 2019 with the world’s largest annual gathering of soccer coaches and administrators.
The mayor was joined by United Soccer Coaches CEO Lynn Berling-Manuel, Choose Chicago Executive Vice President Mark Anderson, Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority CEO Lori Healey and Choose Chicago Board Chair Desiree Rogers.
Following the press conference, Mayor Emanuel toured the convention center along with Berling-Manuel and even stepped on the demo fields with one of the local demo teams prior to the start of the morning sessions.
The Convention continues at McCormick Place West through the weekend with the final session taking place at noon on Sunday.
