Welcome to the second edition of the Black Coaches Advocacy Group newsletter. In an effort to better our communication efforts we will be sending a monthly newsletter to all of our members so that we are all on the same page with all this group is doing.
Important deadline –
We would like to once again recognize one of our own at the upcoming United Soccer Coaches Convention. Last year we recognized Kim Crabbe as the recipient of the Black Coaches Award of Excellence. Learn more about Kim here. Our award committee chair, Daniel Gant, has been sending out emails, but the deadline is approaching for us to submit a nominee. Member Spotlight – Mike Curry, United Soccer Coaches – Honor Award Recipient
The United Soccer Coaches will present Mike Curry with the Honor Award at the 2020 United Soccer Coaches Convention in Baltimore. To learn more about Mike and why he’s been chosen for this award read here.
Convention Registration is open!
The registration of the 2020 United Soccer Coaches convention in Baltimore, MD is now open! Join us and thousands of other coaches, admins, fans, and players January 15-19, 2020. Look for updates and schedules of where you can network and meet other Black Soccer Coaches Advocacy Group members at the convention in future newsletters and in Slack. New communication tools
In addition to this monthly newsletter and our Facebook page, we are adding Slack to the communication toolbox. You can learn more about Slack here. Slack will allow us to streamline our communication and keep it organized using the channel process. In order for Slack to be a great communication tool, we need you to contribute. The first way to contribute is to introduce yourself in the #intro channel – basically give us your elevator pitch/quick bio. Join here!
