KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 31, 2024) – United Soccer Coaches announced the 2023-24 High School Scholar All-Americans on Wednesday. A total of 88 student-athletes including 45 girls and 43 boys seniors were honored based on their cumulative achievement in the classroom as well as on the soccer field during their secondary school careers.

The lists are highlighted by the Scholar Players of the Year as selected by the High School Scholar All-America Council. Hailey Wade, a goalkeeper from Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana, is the honoree on the girls’ side. Owen Bull, a forward from Trumbull High School in Trumbull, Connecticut, is the boys’ selection. Both Wade and Bull were named 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-Americans last fall.

Wade was selected the State Player of the Year by the Indiana High School Soccer Coaches Association for the 2023 fall season, allowing just seven goals and recording nine shutouts for Hamilton Southeastern which posted a 13-2-3 record and reach the Indiana Class 3A state sectional semifinals.  She earned a 4.56 GPA at her school and will be attending Valparaiso University this fall. 

Bull was named the Connecticut State Player of the Year, leading his Trumbull High School team to back-to-back FCIAC tournament championships. He finished his career as the school’s all-time leading scorer recording 53 goals and 14 assists including 19 and eight his senior season. Bull, who was also captain of the Trumbull boys’ basketball team, compiled a cumulative GPA of 4.50 at the school and will matriculate to Yale University this fall.
