Top squads continue hot starts to stay atop latest high school rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 2, 2018) - United Soccer Coaches and USA TODAY High School Sports released the latest set of boys and girls regular season soccer polls in the USA TODAY/United Soccer Coaches Super 25 Fall Rankings on Tuesday. The top-ranked teams in both polls continued their perfect starts to stay atop the polls.

St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J. continues to hold down the top spot in the boys' rankings with an 8-0-0 start. Naperville North (Naperville, Ill.) is 16-0-0 to start the year and moved up to No. 2. Trinity (Louisville, Ky.) made the biggest jump of the week moving up to No. 3 from 21 last week. Clarence (Clarence, N.Y.) moved up eight spots to No. 4 and Marquette University High (Milwaukee, Wis.) jumped into the top five for the first time.

The top four teams in the girls poll remained the same with Northern Highlands Regional (Allendale, N.J.) continuing to hold down the No. 1 ranking with an 8-0-0 start. Jesuit (Portland, Ore.) is No. 2 at 9-0-0 with Newton South (Newton Mass) sitting at No. 3 and Spencerport (Spencerport, N.Y.) in fourth. Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.) moved all the way up to No. 5 from 21 last week, they are tied with Beavercreek (Beavercreek, Ohio) for the fifth spot.
