2017 High School Coach of the Year: Jason Pendleton

Jason Pendleton currently teaches and coaches soccer at Blue Valley Southwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas.  In 2017 both his girls’ and boys’ teams won state championships with the boys team finishing 20-0-1 with a #4 ranking in the USA Today/United Soccer Coaches Poll.  In his 8 years at BVSW the girls have played for the state title four times (2011, 2014, 2015, 2017) and the boys twice (2016, 2017).  Prior to coaching at BVSW he was the head boys and girls coach at Free State High School in Lawrence, KS. 

Jason has been a National Staff Coach for the United Soccer Coaches since 2007. He has earned the NSCAA/United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma, the US Soccer “C” License, and the Coerver Youth Diploma.

He has been selected the United Soccer Coaches State Coach of the year 4 times (2011, 2014, 2017 [boys and girls]) and the United Soccer Coaches Regional Coach of the year three times (2014, 2017 [boys and girls].
