Leadership

The following sections describe the leadership structure of the United Soccer Coaches.

Board of Directors

A board of directors is the governing body of a non-profit organization. The United Soccer Coaches Board of Directors consists of nine (9) voting members.  The Chief Executive Officer serves as a non-voting member.  Visit the current Board of Directors for more information.

Advocacy Council

The Advocacy Council was created in 2015 as a result of United Soccer Coaches making changes in its governance structure.  The restructuring of United Soccer Coaches resulted in the creation of the Advocacy Council to represent current and future Membership Groups. United Soccer Coaches is a membership organization, and, therefore, the Advocacy Council and Membership Group framework provides a structure to help increase membership participation and give constituent and diversity groups the access and input needed to realize United Soccer Coaches mission, vision and core values.

National Office

The United Soccer Coaches National Office, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., is where all the day-to-day operations of the association occur. National office staff are responsible for executing the Board of Directors strategic planning initiatives.

Committees

Committees are the workhorses of the board. In committees, members can focus their attention and energy on one or two organizational concerns, rather than on every problem and opportunity that comes along. With a good committee structure in place, the board can distribute its governing functions and responsibilities equitably among its members, and thus position itself to maximize its effectiveness.
